In part 63 of our A.H.Harris ‘Meet the Team’ Blog series, we would like you to meet Adrienne Sisco, Rental Administrator of our Fairfield, NJ branch! She is a dependable and reliable associate that everyone can count on, so let’s hear what Adrienne has to say about her career here at Harris!
Hi Adrienne! What is your role at Harris?
I am the rental administrator for the GMA (Greater Metro Area) region.
What lead you to a career with Harris?
I had been working at a company where I wasn’t doing what I enjoyed; I had then applied to A.H.Harris in 2002 looking for a change of pace. I knew I loved working here right away! I was even fortunate enough to leave the company and come back.
We're glad to have you back, Adrienne! What was your first job ever?
My first real job other than babysitting was working for Boston Market in high school. My first job working for a company was a week after I graduated high school in 1996. I worked for an aluminum product manufacturing company in their office, was there for two years and then went to Reed Minerals & Harsco whose product we carry!
Describe Harris in three words:
People. Pride. Passion. I know that’s pretty much what most have said, but, it’s the best way to describe Harris. The people who work here have the pride to make Harris what it is and the passion to do their best each and every day. Definitely never a dull moment. Every day is an adventure and is never the same!
What is your biggest accomplishment at Harris so far?
I feel that my biggest accomplishment at Harris is being in a position where I can problem solve in a variety of ways. People can turn to me for countless reasons and that makes me feel very accomplished. I have grown so much with the company both in my career and in my life!
What is something working at Harris has taught you?
Don’t give up! There are days where I feel completely overwhelmed but I know that there are so many people who I can turn to for help or for guidance! You are never truly alone. My co-workers have become a second family to me in reality. Having known so many of the guys and gals I work with since I first started, you know that they are there for you and vice versa.
Very true! Harris is a team! So far, what has been your favorite memory at Harris?
I have so many! I really think my favorite memory was the first Summit I attended back in 2010 at the basketball hall of fame after I had come back in 2009. Being able to see people that I didn’t see every day that I had known for years face to face or that I had previously met but hadn’t seen for so long is a great feeling. To see the amazing company we are and how we all unite for those few days as a whole. It was a pretty amazing experience!
What does Harris Pride mean to you?
That we are a team! When people ask where I work and I say A.H. Harris, I always say it with pride because there is no better place to work!
Anything else about you?
I guess that if I was able to do anything on the side and if I had the time, I would love to do something to help animals! I am a huge animal lover and advocate. My husband always yells at me because I watch these sad animal videos and I get upset and angry. In a perfect world and if we had the money I would love to have an animal sanctuary where I could take in and help animals in need or who didn’t have homes! I also love to read!
