Wow, we are up to part 48 in our Meet the Team series! We put the spotlight on Regional Operations Manager for our Northern New England area. Jason recently celebrated 15 years with A.H. Harris, what a milestone! Let's hear more from Jason!
Jason, thanks so much for talking with us. Waht is your role at A.H. Harris?
I currently am the Regional Operations Manager for the Northern portion of the NNE. Overseeing the Operations for 9 locations; Plainville, Boston, Woburn, Portsmouth, Manchester, West Lebanon, Portland, Augusta & Bangor.
What lead you to a career with Harris?
I was between jobs and looking for something closer to my home, I came upon a job posting for the Harris Manchester, NH branch and began my journey with the team. My previous job was in the construction sales sector, so it seemed like a good fit.
What was your first job ever?
When I was in high school and college, I was a mason tender during summers.
Describe Harris in three words:
Talented. Dedicated. Team.
What is your biggest accomplishment at Harris so far?
I would say the friendships that have been formed with people I deal with on a regular basis, A.H. Harris employees, vendors & customers alike.
What is something working at Harris has taught you?
Working at Harris has taught me the importance of diversifying yourself. I have sat in many seats throughout my 15 years; warehouse, counter sales, pre-bidding, branch manager, buyer and now Regional Ops. By holding all those roles, it gives you a better understanding of how the company functions on the whole. Diversifying gives you the ability to bring value back to the company.
You wear many hats! So far, what has been your favorite memory at Harris?
There are many, I enjoyed my time on the original Sx.e conversion team back in 06’-07’, it was great being involved in that project, very time consuming but rewarding. I have enjoyed all the Summits, being able to spend time with the people you don’t see on a regular basis. And most recently, being able to spend a week with our friends at the Kenseal Long Island City location, back in October for Project Bigfoot roll out week. It was great to meet the crew and see the business from behind their sales counter. I left there extremely impressed.
What does Harris Pride mean to you?
Reading these "Meet the Team’s" over the years, Harris Pride means many things to many people. To me, it’s being excited and motivated to go to work every day, some days are better than others. We are all here to serve the common goal of servicing our customers and our employees.
Anything else about you you'd like to share?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my wife and 2 kids, Ani (8) and Cade (6). They keep me pretty busy. We will soon be adding chickens to the family, so if anyone is in Maine and needs some fresh eggs, stop on by!
That's pretty cool! Thanks for your time, Jason!
