In Part 46 of the 'Meet the Team' series we chatted with Marketing Manager, Liza Wardwell. Liza has been with Harris for 2 years now and enjoys working closely with the A.H. Harris team on creative projects. Let's hear about Liza's journey with Harris thus far!
What is your role at Harris?
I am the Marketing Manager out of the Harris office in West Hartford, CT.
What lead you to a career with Harris?
I started off as an intern after I graduated from the University of New Hampshire and was fortunate enough to become a Marketing Assistant and a year later was promoted to Marketing Manager. I am extremely greatful for all the opportunities I have had thus far at Harris.
Congrats! What was your first job ever?
This is actually a funny story. When I turned 16, my dad would taunt me everyday about applying for jobs, like any other 16 year old I was more focused on driving around with my friends & shopping. One day my dad gave me the "don't think the phone is going to ring & someone just offers you a job" speech. About two days later a family friend called and told me she had an open position at a day care if interested. Safe to say my dad's fatherly advice backfired! But I did learn a lesson!
That is too funny! Describe Harris in three words:
Compassionate. Dedicated. Loyal.
What is your biggest accomplishment at Harris so far?
My biggest accomplishment at Harris has been being a part of the 2017 Harris Summit committee. I had a great time planning the event with Chuck Kuon!
What is something working at Harris has taught you?
Come into work everyday with a positive attitude, it goes a long way for not only yourself but for your team.
So far, what has been your favorite memory at Harris?
Definitely the World of Concrete in Las Vegas. I was fortunate to attend the show during our 100 year celebration and it was great to see the support from customers and vendors at our hospitality event.
What does Harris Pride mean to you?
Harris pride to me means working together and striving to be better. I love being able to work with associates on creative projects and getting their ideas. Everyone is supportive and we all love to see each other succeed.
Anything else about you?
I recently took up Kickboxing which has been a great workout to break up my week. It's probably one of the best stress relievers and a great way to pump you up. I recommend it to everyone!
Cool, Liza! Thanks for your time!
