Meet the Team Part 36: Paul Ferrari

In part 36 of our ‘Meet the Team’ series, we were lucky enough to have the chance to speak with Paul Ferrari. Paul has moved around a lot in the company but currently holds the role of Inventory Control Manager. Paul has been with A.H.Harris for just over 6 years and has gotten the opportunity to visit every single one of our locations! Let’s hear more from Paul.

Hi Paul!  What is your role at Harris? 

I’m lucky in the sense that I’ve gotten to experience many different roles here at Harris! I started out as the shipping manager of the DC store, and after that closure, I was transitioned into the role of Warehouse Manager of the New Haven location. After a bit of time there, I took over the introductory role of Operations Specialist until I was offered Inventory Control Manager. I am now currently the Operations Manager for the New Haven location.

Wow, you really have gotten to experience all different aspects of Harris!

How long have you been with the company? 

I have been with Harris just over 6 years. I was hired in May of 2010.

What was your first job ever?

My first “actual” job was a part-timer at The Home Depot out of high school which I did on weekends during the college years.

What is your biggest accomplishment at Harris so far?

Aside from growing to the role I am currently in, the one accomplishment I am proud of is the fact that I have visited every branch in the footprint (over 40 Harris stores!). My years have given me an opportunity to visit every branch and meet a vast majority of the people within the company.  Personally, I feel it is beneficial to build relationships and put a face to a phone number or email. This leads to a more personal, as well as productive, work environment for both me and the other members of the pride.

What is something working at Harris has taught you? 

That teamwork is a good thing, and at times, can be far more beneficial than putting up your walls. In my past work experiences and even throughout school, I preferred to work alone because it gave me complete control. However, when I came to Harris, I realized I needed those around me in order to grow in the company and learn through their experiences that I had not yet had. One of my absolute favorite things to do is relocations and openings. These call for an immense amount of teamwork and it’s amazing to see the results. The free-flowing of ideas and coming up with ways to expedite what can be a heavily stressful situation make it far more enjoyable.

Our ability to work as a team is something we definitely take pride in here at A.H. Harris. We could not be nearly as successful as we are without it!

What is your favorite memory at Harris? 

The Harris Summits seem to be the first thing that comes to mind. It’s awesome to see a group of people who work together from all over the East Coast celebrate all the hard work we put in, and it immediately shows just how great and unique of a place A.H. Harris truly is!

What does Harris Pride mean to you?

Harris Pride is going that extra mile to make sure that our customers always have a great experience and are taken care of. Harris Pride is caring for our own in times of need and assisting wherever we can. Harris Pride is working together with one another and constantly evolving to be the industry leader that we are and will remain to be for years to come. We are only getting started and I am honored to be along for the ride…
