We are excited to announce part 75 of our Meet the Team blog series. We got the chance to talk with Rebecca Roe, a member of our Inside Sales team at our Newington, CT branch. Rebecca has been with Harris for a little over one year. Rebecca takes each customer interaction as a learning opprtunity to learn more about the construction industry. Let's hear more from Rebecca!
Hi Rebecca, we are excited to get the chance to learn more about you! Mind reminding us what is your role at Harris?
What lead you to a career with Harris?
My father has been involved with the construction industry as long as I can remember. I was working at a big blue box retailer for homeowners construction needs as a supervisor when my father suggested I apply at Harris, he always spoke highly of the company and work environment. Ever since I came on board I’ve loved it here! I look forward to going to work every day, even with my hour drive to and from Torrington, CT.
Your enthusiasm is awesome! What was your first job ever?
I worked at a tiny mom N pop convenience shop when I was 15 in a little town in Massachusetts! I would ring out customers and stock shelves.
Describe Harris in three words:
Dedication, Family, Team!
What is your biggest accomplishment at Harris so far?
My biggest accomplishment is gaining specific product recall. We have so many products to learn at each branch that they warn you when you first start out that basic product knowledge training should be expected at minimum a year. Recalling products to help a customer with any given situation is really what it is all about! I also enjoy the unpredictable nature of each customers needs! I am constantly learning new things here at Harris every day!
That's great that you take each costumer experience and make it learning opportunity! What is something working at Harris has taught you?
Teamwork AND communication means everything!
You couldn't be more right! So far, what has been your favorite memory at Harris?
I really enjoy the events we do whenever we team up with any of our vendors. It is also nice to get to meet the reps who help us out all the time!
What does Harris Pride mean to you?
To me, Harris pride means taking pride in yourself, your work, and the accomplishments of those who work with you.
Rebecca, you are what Harris Pride is all about! Thanks for taking the time to talk with us and letting us know more about you and your role at AH Harris.
Rebecca (far left) won a special golden ticket at our company wide Summit which was awarded to those who went above and beyond to interact with attending vendors!
