Meet the team series part 18: Leadership Spotlight on Chuck Kuon - Director of Rental Assets & Administration

What & who is A.H. In #18 of our successful Harris Leadership interview series here on our blog, we would like you to meet Chuck, who wears many hats around here. Enjoy!

Morning Chuck! What is your role with the company, what are you responsible for here at AH Harris?

Hi Martin. I am the Director of Rental Assets and Administration. All of the rental admins report to me and we are responsible for a smooth rental process from order creation to material return. My group conducts the form rental inventories and sources material from numerous vendors. As you know, concrete form rental is a big part of our business and we are committed to provide our contractors with top-notch forming and shoring equipment every time they rent or buy from us!

How long have you been with the organization?

Since February 1989, so I have been with A. H. Harris for more than 26 years at this point, wow!

And have you always worked in the construction sector or did you change industries during your career?

For the most part I have worked in the construction sector my whole career, I liked Tonka trucks as a kid and part of me has never grown up [laughs]. I have had many rolls in the company from inside sales and estimating, to credit manager, to project manager to “summit” planner. I have been lucky enough to travel to all of the regions and become friends with people from every state that the company operates in.

Yes, and I have seen the work you did for the Harris Summit and vendor expo again this year, amazing! What does ‘Harris Pride’ mean to you?

To me, Harris Pride means giving the extra effort to make sure we are doing it “Right’ what ever that maybe.

What is the one thing you want our customers to know?

Customer can be confident that A. H. Harris knows what needs to get done for a project to be successful. We've done it for decades and that experience pays off.

Do you have a piece of advice for current and/or prospect employees, Chuck?

Anything else you would want to share today?

It has been rewarding and I feel lucky to be a part of a company that has grown and adapted over the past 26 years. It is hard to believe some times that I joined the company after answering a two line add in the local paper!
