Throughout 2016, A H Harris will be celebrating 100 years of service within their branches. As a way for associates to come together, we are going to set time aside so we may participate in community service. Community, by definition, is, “A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.” At Harris, all associates come together to reach common goals for the better of the company. The strong teamwork we all share will focus towards giving back to causes important to each branch. This initiative is, Harris Cares!
We are excited to continue our strong relationship with the TCA. Our CEO Kim Corwin is a past president on the TCA Board of directors and now Harris account manager John Adams is serving as a member. Congratulations, John!

Brace yourself, winter is coming. Among the many challenges associated with concrete construction, there is none more common than that of pouring and placing concrete in cold weather. While cold weather concreting has been addressed overtime with varying levels of effectiveness, there is really only one optimal approach to proper curing during cold weather. Additives and accelerators have unfavorable side effects, but insulated heat application doesn’t.
We had quite the year here at Harris. Our 5 regions had record breaking seasons. Our products, services and solutions have been utilized from Maine to the Carolinas, serving contractors, construction companies and homeowners alike. We added more people to our teams, upgraded facilities and experienced healthy business growth which we do not take for granted. Our focus on customer service, quality products and having the right team members in the right positions helped increase customer satisfaction and improved our word-of-mouth brand recognition and perception. 2015 also saw some significant growth in our online communities. All our social media channels increased not only in size, but also in engagement. Some highlights.
Message from AH Harris President & CEO Kim Corwin on the 5-year highway bill deal Congress reached today:
Our graduate and intern programs are an integral part of our operations. We help young, educated and passionate people taking their first steps into rewarding careers within the industry. From engineers to supply chain managers, data analysts, accountants and people manager, the construction sector has so much more to offer than physical work on jobsites. From day one, our graduates and interns, in both temporary and permanent roles, are a genuine part of our team and treated like family. They gain valuable insights into real world problems and solutions while helping us stay close to our community and new trends (academic, technology related etc.). Many of our ex-graduates are now in leadership positions throughout the organization. Some of our interns start working for us once they finish school/college. They bring fresh ideas to the table and help a century old business stay ahead of the innovation curve. You’ll be excited to hear it’s these next-generation workers who help drive change around here. They work in our engineering teams, estimating, marketing, strategy and operations. Let’s hear it from them!
