Project Spotlight Brunswick Layover ICF Project, Brunswick, ME by A.H. Harris Nick Shorey
Episode XIX of our 'Meet the Team' leadership spotlights. Today, I got the opportunity to interview Tad Spiller, nominated by Mike Griffin. Tad is the Account Manager at our Portland branch. On Facebook we run an album called “Faces & Places of AH Harris” and we also feature snapshots of our crew on Instagram. But we want to give some insights into who our company leaders are, what their background is and include some ‘personal touch’ that goes beyond what you would find on LinkedIn. Let’s hear it from Tad!
This past year, A.H. Harris was pleased to be a part of the Camp William Hinds Dining Hall Project. Camp Hinds, located in Raymond, Maine, is owned and maintained by the Pine Tree Council, Boy Scouts of America. Camp Hinds is a year round camp dedicated to helping promote the aims and methods of Boy Scouting to their fullest abilities. Account Manager and Camp Hinds attendee, Alan Gould, was approached by dedicated customer, Larry Grondin of RJ Grondin & Sons, to donate site work. Alan reached out to Northern New England regional Vice President Michael Griffin, and to Kim Corwin our President and CEO, who both agreed this project was a great endeavor for our company to invest in. With much support, Alan was able to inform Larry Grondin and Eric Tarbox, Scout Executive/CEO, that Harris was fully committed to the project. With much pleasure, A.H. Harris was happy to donate grade stakes and silt fence along with Harris-Ply out of our Plainville store for the dining hall foundation. The U.S. Military was gracious enough to provide transportation for the project equipment. According to Alan Gould,
Hello, and welcome to AH Harris Portland, Maine! We have been serving the southern counties (Cumberland, York, Oxford) of the state since 1994. Originally opened on Warren Avenue off Exit 48 of the Maine Turnpike, we now operate just up the street at 14 Rainmaker Drive (for some GPS use 585 Riverside Street). Service to our valued customers with the new location has been greatly improved with multiple pick-up areas around the facility. A full service loading dock with forklift access allows both incoming and outgoing materials to move with ease. 3 smaller loading doors facilitate customer service, as well as our large 16-foot overhead serving as our main pick-up area. Getting you in and out and back to your jobsite is our top priority!
Episode XII of our Leadership series. We want you to get to know our team. On Facebook we run an album called “Faces & Places of AH Harris” and we also feature snapshots of our employees and job sites on our Instagram account. But we want to give some insights into who our company leaders are, too! We share what their background is and include some ‘personal touch’ beyond the corporate resumes you find on LinkedIn.
A.H. Harris Augusta has been serving 8 counties in Central Maine (Androscoggin, Franklin, Kennebec, Knox, Lincoln, Oxford, Sagadahoc & Somerset) from its current location since the summer of 1989. After 25+ years, branch manager Daryl and team are excited to move into their new facility. But don't worry - they're not moving far. Just across the street as a matter of fact.
